Dr Anders Ekblom
Executive Vice President, Global Drug Development, AstraZeneca R&D
Dr Anders Ekblom has 15 years experience in the drug industry with AstraZeneca, and 14 years experience in senior medical and research positions prior to that. At AstraZeneca, Dr Ekblom is responsible for the global clinical development function, delivering across all clinical stages of drug development including lifecycle management, and leading staff at all major R&D sites (EU, Asia and US). Prior to this, he held a number of senior strategic positions in portfolio management, drug development and other parts of R&D. His experience spans a number of therapy areas including licensing and alliance management. He was recognised as "one of the 100 best managers in Pharma Industry" by PharmaVOICE in 2006.
Dr Ekblom is a Doctor of Dental Surgery, a Medical Doctor, holds a Board certification in Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care, and a PhD and Associate Professorship in Physiology from the Karolinska Institute, Stockholm. He is also widely published in peer reviewed scientific journals.
